...and what better way to wrap things up, than with a handmade felted fleece rug to warm your autumn-chilled toes? This workshop will bring our workshop schedule to a close for 2025, which started out hosting a lovely day with the Highland Guild of Spinners, Weavers, and Dyers at the mill, highlighted knitting and spinning in September and October at the Ardgay Public Hall, and will now feature a day making your own felted fleece rug at a beautiful location near Dornoch.
Getting more people working and playing with wool is a core mission of ours, it's why we process fleece, have started buying small amounts from local farmers...and why we host our workshops.
For this workshop, you'll be working with some Shetland fleeces we 'rescued' and learning one of the many ways undervalued fleeces can be turned into lovely, useful items - and you'll take your finished product home with you.
It'll take place on 18 October, 10am-4pm, at Fiddler's Green, and all materials are supplied, along with a lovely warm soup for lunch, and hot drinks to get you through the day. It will be a relaxed day sharing knowldege and fun with our workshop leaders Jan and Anna, and is suitable for beginners.
Please note: this is an outdoor event, so wear appropriate shoes and clothing.
